     Throughout her life, Anderson has lived in mainly New York, but has also travelled to other places as far as Denmark. She grew up in Potsdam, New York. Potsdam was founded in 1803 by David Clarkson and Garret von Horn. In Potsdam, she attended St. Lawrence Academy, which was founded in 1816. Today, it is the State University of New York at Potsdam (SUNY Potsdam).

 

     Anderson spent her senior year of high school as an exchange student in Denmark. Denmark is a Nordic country in northern   Europe with a population of over 5.5 million and covering an area of over 43 thousand square kilometers. The official language spoken of Denmark is called Danish. Recognized regional languages include German, Faroese, and Greenlandic. Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark. Founded as a fishing village by Vikings in the 10th century, Copenhagen is now a cultural, social, and academic center. The popular Lego toys and open-faced sandwiches can find their roots in Denmark.

 

     Anderson attended Georgetown University, a private university in Washington, D.C. It was founded in 1789, making it the oldest Jesuit and Catholic university in the U.S, by John Carroll, America’s first Catholic bishop.

     Today, Anderson lives in Mexico, New York, close to the Rocky Mountains. There, she spends her time outside, writing in her cabin or running outside in the woods.
